Regional human trafficking is more prevalent than you might think. One of the most common locations in Ontario for human trafficking is the 401, which runs through Southwestern Ontario - with international borders to the United States in Windsor and Sarnia.
Human trafficking is hard to prove. Many victims know this so do not come forward. In many cases, they live in fear for their lives.
Two thirds (2/3) of human trafficking incidents in Canada are reported in Ontario.
